In Holland we have about 5 sayings that relate to Falconry.

Example. To turn someone the lure = to fool someone.

Example: In Holland we have a saying. Keeping one's wife under the thumb. This means that you have control over your spouse.

Now in falconry it means you hold the leases under your thumb to control your bird on the glove. The word wife in Dutch is a is the female bird aswell as a not very flattering expresion for a woman.

That the kind of saying that I am looking for.

Now are there any of these sayings in english?

Please send as many as you can find.

Greetings Rob & Nina
