I've heard conflicting reports regarding hunting with falcons. Does one
need to flush the prey for the bird with a firearm (or other method)?
Or is it as easy as providing the bird with the necessary environment
and watching it work?

If anyone out there has answers or good links on the subject it would
be much appreciated.

Not with a firearm. In the US I believe it's actually illegal to be
packing while practising falconry. But otherwise, yes, you're trying
to get prey up, whether by kicking bushes or running around clapping or
throwing rocks or yelling. If you did nothing, you'd be waiting for
the ducks to get off the water, or the sparrows to stop freezing, which
would take a long time since they can see your falcon overhead just as
well as you can, and they're staying where they're safe.

There's quite a few websites devoted to falconry... just Google for
it... also a bunch of Yahoo groups as well. Huntinghawks is a pretty
big one.

Are you serious? lol. You can either flush game yourself or use a dog.

Not really.

Where in the World are you? Different countries have different laws, so a
location would help to advise better.

Steve.
