The thing is, though, a post that starts by being crossposted to seven
groups, and which is filled with references to "them" seems very likely
to have been done with an ulterior motive.

Rather doubly so when it is a FORGERY.

The newsgroup sci.astro.amateur had recently been plagued with a number
of fake posts under the names of various people there. These posts were
filled with text from books containing conspiracy theories, and they
were crossposted to the newsgroup news.admin.net-abuse.email.

At first, several of the header fields were falsified, but others
remained to indicate the source as a server in Italy. Then the next
batch came through with virtually perfect fake headers.

Like this one.

However, there is a real RichA (***@none.com), and he had nothing to do
with your posts.
